A total of 1,700 young vines were planted across half a hectare. Carefully selected, this parcel will, in the years ahead, give rise to vines that will form the foundation of wines expressing the distinctive character of this region – its soil, climate, and our approach to vineyard work.

We selected grape varieties we believe best align with a winemaking philosophy focused on producing great wines. Among the white varieties, Graševina and Sauvignon Blanc were planted, while the red varieties include Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Frankovka. These are cultivars that, under our conditions, can deliver wines of pronounced character, structure, and ageing potential.

The new vineyard lies directly alongside an existing parcel and rises gently in elevation, creating even more favourable conditions for growing serious red wines. Such a position provides better sun exposure, efficient drainage, and improved air circulation, all of which will ultimately be reflected in the quality of the grapes.

Planting began by hand to ensure precision in the vineyard edges where machinery cannot reach. The remaining work was carried out using GPS‑guided equipment, which planted the rest of the vineyard both swiftly and with remarkable accuracy, ensuring a high level of uniformity.

And of course, when planting a vineyard, proper “watering” is essential 🙂. We began this tradition with a glass of red wine, hopeful that many more moments like these – in the vineyard and the cellar – lie ahead.
